The city of Rogers has closed down Pinnacle Hills Parkway between Champions Drive and Pauline Whitaker Parkway until April 2024 to both facilitate the construction of the new 6 story Hilton Tapestry Hotel across from JB Hunt Tower on Pinnacle Hills Parkway.

In addition, the city will be rebuilding the traffic circle at Pauline Whitaker and Pinnacle Hills to increase pedestrian safety by reducing to one lane and adding pedestrian crosswalks. This looks to be the last major development of the 15 acre Pinnacle Heights project on the northwest corner of the traffic circle. Crosslands says the development is “Emphasizing walkability and placemaking, Pinnacle Heights aligns with the “new urbanism” housing and retail trend around the country.”

The Hilton Tapestry Hotel will be directly across from General Mills

To be honest, when I first heard the developments like The District and Pinnacle Heights talk about “walkability” I dismissed it as marketing speak, as they may have been walkable within their small developments but the massive roundabout prevented any true walkability in the uptown area. With the redevelopment in the last few years this is becoming a reality and will provide a true sense of urbanism to Rogers.
