ARDOT recently began construction on the Springdale Northern Bypass (Future Highway 412) as well as the XNA Airport Connector highway.

Both are separate but related projects with different timetables, with 412 Bypass expected to complete in 2026 (note this is only the part west of I-49, the eastern section has not yet started). The XNA Connector highway should follow soon after with a 2027 projected completion date.

The Springdale Northern Bypass will connect with existing 412 on the west end of Tontitown, and provide freeway access to I-49 at the existing 612 interchange on the south end of Lowell, with an interchange for the XNA Connector about midway between Tontitown and I-49. This will help move traffic out of Cave Springs and Healing Springs Road with highway access.
